What it costs: While Bumble is free to use, it’s $7
You can sign up for Bumble Boost or Bumble Premium by clicking on the pixelated square in your match queue, or clicking the silhouette in the bottom left-hand corner and tapping your preferred subscription model.
After signing up and logging in, you’ll set up your profile by uploading photos and adding a bio. According to Bumble, users who fill out this section get 40% more matches than those who don’t, so the more images and details you can provide, the better.
If you’re struggling to figure out what to say about yourself, Bumble offers profile prompts you can answer to let your personality shine through. You can add up to 3 prompts on your profile by clicking “Edit Profile.” Whenever you need to update your answers or replace a prompt, just tap the “X” on the one you want to change. Some of the profile prompt examples include: “After work, you can find me…”, “We’ll really get along if…”, and “Never have I ever…”.
FYI, Bumble asks what you identify as rather than forcing you to just select your assigned birth gender, a progressive step towards equal representation on dating apps.
99 a week for Bumble Boost and $ a week for Bumble Premium. You can save by opting for a 1-month package ($ for Bumble Boost and $ for Bumble Premium), or a 3-month package ($ for Bumble Boost and $ for Bumble Premium). A 6-month package for Bumble Boost is $, and a lifetime subscription for Bumble Premium is $.
In the case of same-sex matches, either person can make the first move with an emoji or by commenting on someone’s profile
Payment can be made via PayPal, credit card, Google Wallet, or iTunes/the App Store. Note: These are the models and pricing for U.S. users. Those based elsewhere can learn more about their additional features and pricing by visiting Bumble’s FAQ.
Navigating the app is pretty simple and straightforward. For every Bumble user you’re shown, you can either swipe right to indicate that you’re interested or left to indicate that you aren’t. Although it’s certainly not required, Bumble encourages users to scope out a user’s whole profile and all of their photos before making a decision to swipe in either direction.
When you and another user both swipe right, you’ll be notified that it’s a match. Then, if it’s a heterosexual connection, the lady has 24 hours to send a message or the match will expire. Guys have the option to extend one match per day for an additional day if the lady hasn’t initiated a conversation yet. Got a busy day or week ahead? You can easily toggle into “Snooze Mode” at any time, which lets you hit pause on the swiping while still maintaining your current matches.
Women are also able to comment on or post an emoji reaction to users’ profile photos or prompts to show their interest, and while men can react to a woman’s profile with an emoji, it’ll only be shared if there’s a match.
