SeniorFriendfinder is part of the massive Friend Finder network of sites, so you’d imagine they’d know a thing or two about online dating. In SeniorFriendFinder they apply their expertise to the senior dating market and have come up with a website with a huge membership base, packed with features and a great online community. It only just misses out on the number one spot because SeniorMatch has a few more original features, but otherwise SeniorFriendFinder does little wrong.

If you’ve looked at a few other sites in this category, you’ll notice that the emphasis here is on fun and the atmosphere’s less staid and a little raunchier than elsewhere. As with other sites, it’s free to join, create a profile and upload photos. Profiles are very detailed and give you a good sense of a member’s interests, personality and what they’re looking for in their ideal date. Most come from the US, but there’s a global reach and wherever you’re from you’re likely to find other members near you.

Video introductions and photo albums enhance profiles and you can complete a personality test to gauge your ‘love type’ and match this with other members to see if you’re compatible. Standard members only get a limited profile view and it’s necessary to upgrade to see video profiles, some photos and complete personality tests. Up to 20 photos can be uploaded. Free members only get to see thumbnail images, which are poor quality and very small, whilst Silver members get to see larger, better quality images and Gold members can access extra large photos.

You can get in touch with other members by email, send a flirt (an automated icebreaker send to initiate contact-choose from hug, kiss, smile, wave or wink), and request to chat online using the IM messenger.

There are chat rooms too (3 active public rooms when we reviewed the site: the lobby, gazebo and boudoir) but they could have been busier. When we were online there were just 22 people ardent ne demek using the chat rooms, which doesn’t sound great but it was during the morning and even 22 is far better than you might find on similar websites.

You can also invite members to be your friends and create a favorites list. This is a good way of keeping up to date with your favorite people on the site, and you can even maintain a list of favorite pictures and videos if you’d like to go back and view them at another time.

Search tools include a quick search (search by gender, age and location) and a range of one click tab searches (members near me/most popular members/popular member photos/VIPs/my matches).

Silver and Gold members also get access to a username search and expanded searches with a much wider range of criteria covering most attributes constituting member profiles. We do feel that this could be improved upon as many of the search elements aren’t really about a member’s personality or life, and those are sometimes very important. For example, if you’re looking for someone of a particular religious faith then this site isn’t ideal because you cannot choose that as a search option.

If you’re interested in learning more about the site and online dating you’ll find an online magazine with advice columns, articles, polls and more. You can also read member testimonials, start your own blog or join a group based on topic or locality. These are interesting features which allow you to talk with members outside of private messages, engaging with them based on their thoughts and opinions in an easy-going chat area amongst like-minded people.

To get the most out of the site it’s necessary to upgrade your membership. Free members can join and create a profile, join the public chat rooms, view the online magazine and reply to messages from premium members.

Silver membership allows you to view fuller profiles and contact other members, get listed above standard members in searches, contact new members, watch video introductions, partial access to blogs, groups and magazine features and 24/7 telephone support.

For a little more money, Gold membership gets you unlimited access to all features, listing at the very top of searches, be first to contact new members, full access to profiles, blogs, groups and magazine features, extra large photos and priority support.

You can also enhance your membership by allowing standard members to contact you and view your full profile and highlight your listing in search results and emails (VIP). There’s toll-free customer care by telephone, email support and a very informative FAQs page.
